Hey Hey Thursday – What’s your favorite childhood toy?

I’m feeling a little nostalgic today so let me ask you this question, what’s your favorite childhood toy? I’m referring to something which makes you smile the moment you thought of it.

In my about page, I mentioned that my favorites include a red metallic jeep and a huge Hello Kitty plush. I’m sure I have photos of me with those items stashed somewhere in my parents’ house. I’ll probably edit this post when I find those chibi photos to add more nostalgia. Lol.

I also remember I had a plastic garage with gasoline station, I’m pretty sure it was Matchbox because it came with about a dozen Matchbox cars. It has a ‘manual’ elevator and looks similar to the photo below but there are more parking ‘floors’. I had so much fun playing with it and my Matchbox cars.

Oh, and please don’t forget that I’m a girl. I just love cars and robots more than dolls and dressing up. Lol.

Tell me what’s your favorite childhood toy and your fond memories of it.

    Mine is a red tin robot. It walks then the chest area opens and then make a blazing gun fire sound. After that the chest closes back and walks again. Hahaha.

      It sounds like a lot of fun. I’m sure Little TP will also enjoy something like that. ^^

    Hmm, that’s a tough one. Do gaming consoles count? :)

    I think my favourite non-electronic toys were some transformers figures, rubber bouncing balls, and miniature frisbees.

      Yes, you can put in all your favorite gaming consoles.

      Do you still keep your favorite toys? I think most of mine went to younger cousins/relatives except for the Hello Kitty plush. It’s still in my parents’ house ^^

    Hmmm… I remember I was going goo-goo-ga-ga over lego when I was very young. I enjoy building stuff. As I grow older, I moved on to Mask (the car that can fly and so on..), Transformers and Ninja Turtles. After that, I went into the electronic toys era, like Nintendo and Famicom. :D

      I don’t remember if I have my own set of LEGO but I remember playing with it. So you’ve already been building stuff since you were a kid. ^^

      Hmmm, I’m not familiar with Mask and I didn’t have Transformers and Ninja Turtles. Oh, Famicom, I remember my uncle has that and we just go to his house to play. Good times. ^^ We had the old PS but we didn’t get to upgrade. Lol. Now there’s Kinect in my parents’ house but we seldom play with it. Yeah, I’m no gamer ^^;

    I remember spending more time playing lego than Barbie dolls when I was a kid. I’d spend a few hours building things like guns, buildings, cars.

    Gosh, now I miss all that! I gave away my boxes of lego…should really get new ones and start building things again >.<

      Yeah, I remember you mentioned before how you enjoyed building houses and guns with LEGO. ^^ Did you get to visit Legoland already?

      I’m getting Little TP his first Duplo set this weekend. I hope he also enjoys it. I’ll remember to keep the toys that he had the most fun with so he’ll still see it when he’s older. ^^ I miss a lot of my old toys too.

        No, not yet. I plan to visit when most of the facilities are ready. I heard that while the Legoland is opened to public, some parts of it are still under construction.
