I just found out today via Wcloudx (kumo)’s blog that Good Smile updated their Imitation Page wherein they provide you with information about the fake or bootleg products. Apparently there’s already a fake Nendoroid Puchi Vocaloid #01 set in the market.
I’ve already posted ways to spot fake figures before. I bet even if you’re not a collector, you would have doubts about these Vocaloid puchis. Those marked with blue are the fakes and reds are the real deal. Fake puchis are really sad-looking. They have bad paint, missing details, shiny faces, well, they’re just downright awful. And what’s with the keychains on their heads???

You may view the more photos of fake Vocaloid puchis here.
I guess the ultimate fake figure that I’ve seen so far is this version of Saber. I think people call her Sader, actually. What an epic phail. This figure was released a few years ago. Maybe she’s really rare now. Rofl. I can’t stop laughing when I saw this figure. That FFFUUU character even came to mind when I saw Sader.

Does GSC even need to make a page for these? Anyone who is enough of a fan that they’d go on their site would surely be able to know these are fake.
Hello Marshmallow. ^^
I guess that page is still useful especially to new collectors. It’s really quite easy to tell fakes if they look this bad but giving information about which figures have fake counterparts is also a good way to warn potential buyers.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you’ll enjoy reading my other posts here.
Yeah, but this time it’s easy to spot them!
OMG what a nightmare this SaDer is! o^0
It’s a good attention from GSC to help new collectors but in this case you can spot them miles away. :P
I hate guys who make fakes. I don’t understand how one fanboy can buy one fake ?
Goodness! When I read about this fake thingy last year. I started to get worried and start asking around if their figure are made in China too. I was kinda scared to auction a fake saber lily from ebay too. I just hate fake items.
Sader made me laugh!
Anyway, those nendos are very clearly fake. They’re kind of ugly too. Anyways, it’s usually very hard for me to tell though.
the tragedy with fakes is that they are so prevalent here in manila, even local toy conventions that should only offer genuine merchandise have these fakes offered for sale :(
