I don’t have a list of resolutions for the new year. I’m still a work in progress and I guess I’ll just do my best to improve in whatever way I can.

I’m truly blessed to have awesome friends like you, thank you all so much! Cheers!

P.S. The little girl in the photo is my niece, isn’t she adorable? ^^

Who forgets anniversaries? Me. Guilty. For some reason, Toy Pusher’s 2nd anniversary just slipped my mind. 0_o

I’m happy that even though my blog posts are sometimes boring and have a ridiculously inconsistent spacing, you, my dear friends and readers still stick with it and take the time to visit here. For that, I’m truly grateful! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I don’t have a resolution or anything like that since I think I’ll just probably break it because of various reasons. ^^; But I’ll be happy to hear your suggestions on how I can improve ToyPusher.com.

Again, I sincerely thank all of you for your support and kindness. <3

I’m still in the process of thinking of giving away something for you guys. ^_~

I guess you may be wondering about what the photo above is all about, don’t worry, I’ll explain later. ^^ But first, I’d like to thank all of you who continuously visit my blog even if I seldom write here. As the year comes to a close, I’d like to wish everyone a wonderful and grace-filled 2011 and hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.

I know I missed out a lot the past few months because I’ve been really busy and there were a few health concerns here and there. 2010 is a very challenging year for me personally and I am grateful to all the people who supported me all the way. 2010 gave me a lot of life-altering experiences, some good, some bad but I know 2010 helped me to be a stronger and maybe even a better person. The best gift that I got this year was when the Little Toy Pusher came out. Yup, I became a mom just this month and it was such a rewarding experience. Check out those tiny feet. I can’t wait to hear the pitter-pattering around the house but for now I’m very happy just looking at his cute little face while he sleeps. All the pain, the sacrifices and effort are definitely worth it.

As for ToyPusher.com, I think I’ll be purchasing less toys now because I have to think first of the Little Toy Pusher but I’ll find a way to post some mini-reviews and maybe some more figure photography and artist/collector features. I might be throwing in some reviews of baby toys and other stuff related to babies and little kids. Hopefully those of you who have your own families or planning to build one will be interested to this addition to the site. ^^

Thank you again my dear friends. Enjoy the holidays and may you be more blessed this 2011. Cheers!

It was a gloomy week but the weather seemed to be more cooperative last Saturday, October 30, the day of our Halloween party for the Virlanie kids. I had my hesitations whether to continue this project or not because of personal reasons. But I decided to go through with it with the support of my family and friends. And I’m glad I did. Seeing the sun shining brightly that day made me realize that I made the right decision. Though that day wasn’t about me, looking at the smiles on the children’s faces lifted my weak and severely wounded spirit.

It was really, really nice to see that my family and friends were there to give the support that I need. I am grateful that we were able to solicit more that what we expected and the outpouring of support and encouragement was overwhelming. I’d like to thank everyone of you, who in one way or another, helped make this project a success. We’ll be having an annual project similar to this and I do hope that you will all still be with me and be a blessing to those who needed our help.

A total of 51 kids from Marco Polo Care Center, Mother and Child Home and Tanglaw Home of Virlanie attended the event. They were given name tags and masks as part of the registration.

The kids listened and participated during the storytelling activity by our friend Emily. They eagerly made various witch-like laughter in response to the Halloween themed story.

These are the super cute and yummy Halloween cupcakes baked and designed by our good friend Elaine. Elaine was also able to donate and solicit almost Php 20,000 worth of items in cash and in kind, the highest from the group. She gets to keep Snow Miku for all her efforts. The second highest is Aylin, she was able to contribute almost Php 10,000.

It’s good that that we served prepacked food instead of having it buffet style. It’s a huge time saver and I could imagine the chaos serving little kids their food plate by plate. ^^; The kids and volunteers had pancit (stir-fried noodles), pork barbecue, lumpiang shanghai (fried spring rolls made with ground pork and minced vegetables) and pichi-pichi (a native dessert made with cassava and rolled in grated coconut).

I don’t have a lot of photos of the gifts and the donations but it was more than enough for these kids. Items like coloring book sets, medicines and toiletries were also distributed to other Virlanie homes.

The excited kids were running, hovering around the gifts and goodies, shouting and playing games. It wasn’t that organized and of course kids will be kids, but we knew they had a lot of fun and that’s what important.

We weren’t able to make the kids sit longer for a nicer group photo with the volunteers since they were too pumped up with all the sugary treats that they ate and too excited to play with their newly acquired toys. This is all we got. ^^;

Again, thank you very much to everyone who supported this project. Special thanks to my wonderful family, Mom, Dad, Pollux, Pong and Alexa and to my dear hubby, Ali, to my friends Aylin, Soc, Len, Nath, Nico, Emily and Denise for all your help and for being with me on that day. Thank you Aunt Linda, Nathalie, Carol, Rosselle, Ayleen, Weng and Fides, Janice, Bevs, Rico and Yasmin, Desiree, Ali’s colleagues, to everyone who helped, thank you! To my online friends Rochelle, Daniel, Patrick, Alvin, John, Kelvin, Brent, Webster, Jan, Ninjovee, Michael, Yi, Softz, though you do not know me personally but still you gave me your trust. (Apologies if I missed anyone) I really appreciate everything you’ve done for this project. You’ve made a lot of kids happy. God bless you all and until our next outreach project. ^^

For the past years, my friends and I have participated in various outreach programs, medical missions and other tutorial sessions for street children. This time we decided to organize our own fund raising event and host a Halloween party on October 30, 2010 for the kids of Virlanie Foundation, Inc., our recipient organization.

Virlanie serves as a home for children in need of special protection. This non-government organization provides help to hundreds of children who are poor, abandoned, abused, exploited, neglected and orphaned. The group we are helping consists of 50 children, with ages 3-12 years old. Our little project aims to raise funds so we can give these kids learning materials, toys, basic toiletries and medicines.

Our original plan was actually a toy drive wherein we’ll gather enough toys to give to the children. But then I realized, why not give them more than toys? I talked to my friends and they were all excited to help. I got a few pledges from family and friends and I’d also like to ask for your help if you want to share your blessings with these children.

I’m hoping to raise at least $500 by October 20 from this fund raising effort through ToyPusher.com. You may donate either via PayPal or bank deposit. Kindly send me an email if you are interested to help and I’ll give you more details. I encourage you spread the word about this and ask your friends or other people you know to donate as well.

As a way of saying thank you, I’ll be giving away a Nendoroid Snow Miku and a figma Black Rock Shooter to two people with the highest amount solicited for this project. So go ahead and ask your friends to help you. This is definitely for a good cause. I guess you’ll always be reminded of your kindness and how you made a lot of children happy every time you look at that Snow Miku or BRS figma. ^^

I’m also encouraging you to do the same in your area if you have the chance. I’d be happy to spread the word too and help you get more support. Thank you very much and I hope to hear from all of you.

Edit: I removed the PayPal donate button because I just found out that PayPal is charging a fee for every donation made. Please send your PayPal donations to wecare@toypusher.com instead, with the word Donation as your subject.

Special thanks to Omniclone Toys for sponsoring figma BRS and offering a discount for Snow Miku. ^^

I bet most of you have seen various pictures from different websites covering the Wonfes 2010. There are a lot of wonderful figures on display. My favorites are the new Miku Hatsune figure by Max Factory, Bakemonogatari figmas Senjougahara and Araragi, another Senjougahara fig this time from Alter and Miku Append. Very, very tempting!

Here’s another look at Miku Hatsune figure which is based on the illustration by Taka Tony. For some obscure reason I don’t like figures with their teeth showing, but just like Miku Append, I could make an exception for this. She just looks so happy and makes me want to smile myself. I also love her hair color and how it goes from opaque to semi-translucent (?).

Though still unpainted, Alter’s Senjougahara Hitagi looks really promising. I think she just so charming how she’s propped up on the stairs like with all the stationery around her.

These Little Busters Nendoroids and the details they put on the Nendoroid play set below caught my eye too.

I just browsed for a few minutes so I guess I haven’t seen a lot of other figures from different manufacturers. How about you? What’s new on your wishlist?

It’s been more than a month since my last post but I’m back now. ^^ I just had to attend to a few things, well, a little shift in priorities but everything is well and good. I hope you guys are doing great too.

June went by so fast and all I got this month is Black Rock Shooter Black Blade version and some scratches on my wrists because of her hair. Lol. (I wasn’t so sure how to put the jacket in her hand and I ended up getting those scratches ^^;) Oh, I also pre-ordered the anime version.

I’m planning to take pictures of the Black Blade version soon but she’s really not that different from the first BRS that came out. Her scars are somewhat paler though. She has a simpler base and a cool sword as her weapon but the facial expression and the extra hairpiece is similar to the first one.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to write more this July because it’s Toy Pusher’s anniversary month! Yes, it will be ToyPusher’s first anniversary this July 8. If everything works out, I’ll probably have another contest/giveaway for you guys. Thanks for always visiting ToyPusher.com and I’m really glad that I’ve met a lot of cool people through this blog. <3

Mother’s Day is just 2 days away and I still don’t have a gift for Mom. I usually give her the usual practical stuff like clothes and bags but I found some interesting items that I consider buying to give her a different gift this year.

Sushi Pillows
If your mom loves Japanese food, she’ll surely love these cute sushi pillows too (cover photo). Colorful and amusing, these pillows will definitely add a lot of fun to any room. ^^

Buckyballs

These magnetic balls look really cool. You can shape them, mold them, build stuff with them and you can even stick them to your fridge. Check out the video below, I guess moms can use this toy as a stress reliever. Just look at how many things you can do with a set of Buckyballs.

Power Plant Herb Garden

Moms will enjoy having fresh herbs growing right in their kitchen with this Power Plant Herb Garden. Now all they have to worry about is creating flavorful dishes with these herbs.

Foodie Fight

If your mom’s a foodie, Foodie Fight trivia game looks like a perfect gift for her. With over 1,000 questions, moms can enjoy playing this game and learn more culinary information with her family.

Decade Box Gift Basket (Classic Candies)

I’m sure this candy gift box will bring back sweet childhood memories of moms so this is a wonderful gift option too. It contains a variety of candies from the decade you choose. I guess anyone will enjoy reminiscing with a boxful of candies.

Then again, I don’t have enough time to have these shipped since these items are not available locally. I can still order them for next year though. ^^;

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! We love you very much and we appreciate everything that you’ve done for us. (Hope you’ll like my gift even if it’s another bag or blouse.)
