Endless Alphabet

Endless Alphabet

When I was a kid, I learned the alphabet through reading books and flash cards. I guess it’s a good way to learn since I developed an interest with books and writing at an early age. Now that I have Little TP, I’m looking for ways where he can learn and enjoy at the same time.

I’m not sure about other kids but Little TP has a short attention span and you have to make him interested so he’ll listen. Though he can recite and identify the alphabet before he was 2, Little TP is more into numbers than letters. He often plays with the Rubbabu (natural) foam numbers that we got him when he was barely a year old and it’s still one of his favorites now. As for the letters, he just sometimes plays with the flashcards and picture books but he’s not as interested as he is with the numbers.

Then when he turned 2, we asked his pediatrician if we can let him use the iPad. His doctor said it’s fine as long as we limit his usage. He used to play with our smartphones sometimes (we didn’t tell his pediatrician about that, shhh…) since we installed some age appropriate apps and we noticed that he’s fascinated with how interactive those games are.

Then Little TP’s Dad saw Endless Alphabet by Callaway Digital Arts Inc.

Endless Alphabet

We decided to try it out since the design looks really fun and colorful. It’s easy for kids to scroll through the pictures or tap on the letter of their choice to begin. After choosing a word, you’ll see cute monsters (Sometimes Little TP calls them aliens, though. Lol.) run over the letters so they are scattered all over the screen.

Endless Alphabet

You just need to drag the letters to their appropriate position to spell the word. It is accompanied by a vocalized sound as you drag the letters so you’ll have an idea how those letters are pronounced.

After you complete the letters, there’s usually a funny animation and the narrator will then tell a humorous explanation of that word. This part never fails to crack Little TP up. I often see him tap the replay button to watch the animation over and over.

Endless Alphabet

Aside from the creative design, the funny sound effects and animation, I especially like the choice of words that Callaway chose for this app. You won’t see the typical ‘apple’ or ‘cat’ here. There’s a mix of short and long words like ‘itchy’ or ‘flop’ and the more advanced, ‘gargantuan’, ‘experiment’ or ‘cooperate’. I think this helps expands a child’s vocabulary.

Endless Alphabet

New words are also added regularly (that’s why it’s called Endless) so your little one will not get bored with the same set of words.

Endless Alphabet app

Endless Alphabet is a fun app for little kids as they explore different words. You can expect your kids to be entertained with those silly characters as they learn their ABCs.

I don’t even remember how I learned the alphabet, my parents probably sat down with me with a book.
